Swimming & Diving to Remain at  Clovis Olympic Swim Complex Through 2020

CLOVIS, CALIF. – California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Executive Director Roger L. Blake today announced Clovis Olympic Swim Complex, at Clovis West High School will remain the home of the CIF Swimming and Diving Championships through 2020. The CIF Executive Committee will vote, on June 16, to affirm the recommendation to extend the agreement with Clovis.

“The CIF is pleased to continue hosting another State Championship in the Fresno/Clovis area,” said CIF Executive Director Roger L. Blake. “We are appreciative and thankful to the Clovis Unified School District and local community for their tremendous effort and workings that go on behind the scenes in order to put on these premier high school events.”
 
Clovis Olympic Swim Complex, has hosted the CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships since the event’s inception in 2015. The new three-year agreement will run from 2018-2020.

“Hosting premier high school events such as the State Swim and Dive Championships is great for our students and for the community, and we are excited to again partner with CIF,” said Clovis Unified Superintendent Janet Young, Ed.D. “Supporting events such as this exemplify our core value of providing opportunities for students to excel in mind, body and spirit.”

Annually, more than 900 student-athletes from across the state compete in 24 events during the two-day event. The top team overall and the top six finishers in each event receive awards.

The Fresno/Clovis area is no stranger to hosting CIF State Championships as they also are home to the CIF State Cross Country Championships (Woodward Park) and CIF State Track & Field Championships (Veterans Memorial Stadium).
