SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The CIF State Basketball Championships will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 14-15, at the Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, with tip-off set for 10:00 a.m. each day. Twenty-four teams will compete for 12 State titles. A complete schedule follows.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the Golden 1 Center box office. Ticket prices per day start at $16 for adults and $10 for seniors (65+), children (2+), and high school students with a valid ASB card.
Spectrum Networks will broadcast all State Championship games LIVE across either Spectrum SportsNet, Spectrum SportsNet LA, or Spectrum News 1. Please check your local listings. (In Northern California, NFHS Network will also carry all games).
The boys Open Division features Roosevelt, Eastvale (1-0) with a lone DI title in 2017, while Archbishop Riordan (1-2) returns to the State Championship Finals after back-to-back appearances in 2001-02 in Division III. Sierra Canyon (3-0) looks to add a DI crown to their collection after back-to-back Open Division titles in 2018-19. In Division II, Chatsworth (0-1) is still in search of their first Championship after a Division IV loss last year, while Jesuit (0-2) is also in search of their first State title after back-to-back DI losses in 1993-94.
In the girls' action, it’s an Open Division rematch for the third consecutive year with Etiwanda (2-0) looking to three-peat as Open Champions, while Archbishop Mitty (6-9) returns to the Open for the fourth consecutive year, still looking for their first crown in the division, claiming their last State title in 2015 (DII). The Division I game features Sage Hill (1-0) as they return after a 2022 DII win, while Carondelet (1-3) returns to the State Championship Finals for the first time since 2010. Caruthers (2-0) returns to the State Championships for the second straight year, this time in Division II after winning the DIII crown last year and a DV crown in 2019. In Division III, Marin Catholic (1-0) returns to the State Championships after their lone DIV win in 2002, while Mater Dei Catholic (1-0) also returns for the first time following their 2009 DIV title. Rosamond (0-1) returns to the DV title game after their lone appearance back in 1990.
Eleven teams are making their first State Championship Finals appearance including Diamond Ranch (B DV), Fresno Christian (B DIV), Half Moon Bay (G DIV), International, San Francisco (B DV), King’s Academy (B DIII), Lincoln, Stockton (B DI), Priory (B DIV), Rancho Bernardo (G DII), San Gabriel Academy (B DIII), Whitney, Cerritos (G DIV), Woodland Christian (G DV).
